Our history

Hermanos Alfaro is founded

  • 1980 A small family business builds the company's first headquarters
  • 1981 First on-site machining job, a service that today represents one of the company's unique selling points.
  • 1984 Design and construction of the first machines
  • 1987 Relocation of the main workshop to its current location at Camino Romeu 45 (Vigo, Spain)
  • 1989 Acquisition of the first numerically controlled lathe and completion of the first on-site machining service outside Spain.

Advances in manufacturing

  • 1990 We begin mass production of hydraulic fittings for high-pressure circuits.
  • 1992 We manufacture our first fish peeling machine. (To date, more than 200 units have been sold).
  • 1995 We introduced important dimensional control systems.
  • 1997 We obtained ISO 9001 Quality certification.
  • 1998 First on-site machining for the offshore industry on three oil exploration platforms.

New technologies

  • 2000 We redesigned our corporate identity.
  • 2002 We incorporated a new computerised management system (ERP).
  • 2003 We opened up to new sectors with the first on-site machining for the wind power and submarine sectors.
  • 2006 New investments in numerical control machinery enabling increased production.
    PSA Peugeot Citroën includes us in its panel of direct suppliers.
  • 2012 We create our online website.

Hermanos Alfaro today

  • 2014 We acquire a new industrial plant on Av. Ricardo Mella (Vigo, Spain), currently our on-site machining operations centre.
  • 2015 We acquire a lathe with precision machining capacity for parts up to 8000 mm in length.
  • 2019 Acquisition of a laser welding machine, complementing our hardfacing and welding services.
  • 2023 Signing of important international agreements.
  • 2024 Manufacture of the Titán, an on-site machining lathe with a turning capacity of 11,000 mm in diameter.
  • 2025 Celebration of our company's 45th anniversary.
  • 2026 We are restyling our online website.
